The team shows appreciation to their fans as they close out their regular WBCBL season, moving forward as the #1 seed in their region, holding a 9-3 record. “We have had a great first season, and we wouldn’t be where we are without our fans, they are our support system, when we are at home and at away games. It is great to know that each game there are people supporting and cheering for us,” says Owner Ernesia Wright, on Sunday’s game held at Glenn Hills High School. Marco’s Pizza was the proud sponsor for the Georgia Soul’s Fan Appreciation game, where they awarded the first 10 fans entering the game a free XL pizza. To continue with the theme, The Georgia soul gave fans raffle tickets as they swarmed in to the game, where a few lucky fans were able to win one a $10 gift certificate to one of the popular popcorn spots in Hephzibah, GA called Pop n’ Stop. Fans rushed down from the stands to receive their prize as several raffles were drawn during the game. During halftime, there was one talented Georgia Soul fan, out of 15, to make the half-court shot to when the $30.00 in gift certificates for Pop’n Stop. With the excitement and high energy coming from the fans who filled the bleachers, The Georgia Soul came out on top of their opponents, the Winston-Salem Lady Warcats, 88-70. Lacoya Terry led the soul with 20pts and Rashay Rawls had a double-double with 12pts and 14rbs.
