![]() National Champions Partnering with The OC Charity To Bring SCA Awareness to the Charlotte Community Charlotte, N.C. - Charlotte Invasion is more than just a national championship basketball team. This hometown team is focused on mobilizing players to become community resource ambassadors in addition to champions! The 2016 season has proven to be the most exciting yet as they embark on new partnerships with organizations throughout Charlotte. The belief that being a champion is a way of life is integral in the Charlotte Invasion organization. The Omar Carter Charity is committed to raising awareness to help the public become more familiar with what Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) is, how it affects people, and how we can equip them with the training possible to save lives. Although October is officially Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Month, the OC Charity raises awareness all year long. They utilize partnerships to host events that engage the community in cardiovascular health issues making it possible and convenient to learn CPR, obtain free physicals, and have access to blood pressure checks. Charlotte Invasion and The OC Charity will come together once again to teach Compression Only CPR to the Charlotte community during halftime of the Saturday, July 9th Charlotte Invasion game against the Virginia Lady Warriors. The mission of these two organizations collide in awareness, education and promotion of maintaining a heart healthy lifestyle. This is only one of several events these organizations partner on throughout the year to bring SCA awareness to Charlotte and beyond. The game starts at 2pm.
