In May, no-one would have believed that the South Carolina Storm, during June and July would, finish 2nd in the Atlantic region and go 4-2 in those months.
In the season finale against the Capital City Cougars, we set a team personal best attendance record of 115 people, topped with a hard fought victory.
"Our ladies are very enthused to be in a position like this. It is the Storm's first time being one of the top seeded teams in the regional tournament and is looking to continue to make history. It hasn't been easy and our overall record doesn't show it but we have become HOOP PHI STRONG!"

The Iowa Force Women’s Basketball Team has completed their first regular season in the WBCBL with a 3-6 overall record. The Force had wins against the Missouri Arch Angels, Kansas City Majestics and a forfeit victory over the Arch Angels. The Force were in the midst of a four game losing streak before earning their 3rd win of the season due to forfeit from the Missouri Arch Angels.
The Force suffered a hard-fought loss to the defending Regional Champion St. Louis Surge 78-66, a 92-82 loss to the Nebraska Strikers and an 84-79 loss to the Kansas City Majestics. At the previous two home games, the Force held a food donation for the Boys and Girls Club of Iowa. Food items were brought to the games and for each person who brought a food item, $1 was taken off of their ticket price. The Force also had a pink out and a fan appreciation day at their home game on Sunday, July 10th. Pink Force shirts were on sale and Iowa Cubs tickets, shirts, Iowa State hats and an autographed Iowa Force basketball were given away. The Force also collected donations for Breast Cancer Research.
Due to the St. Louis Surge defeating the Kansas City Majestics on July 16th 95-58, the Iowa Force will qualify for the Midwest Regional Tournament on Saturday, July 23rd in St. Louis. Dominique Simmons has been a very important piece on and off the court for the San Antonio Crusaders. With her personalty, hard working ethics, and dedication to the game and her team, she has proven to be a force to reckon with.
The San Antonio Crusaders are in their second-season and is the only undefeated team left in the WBCBL. Dominique Simmons has been a big part of that with her contributions on the court.
This past Saturday was her last game this season with the Crusaders. She will be leaving this week to fly to Africa to do two of the things she loves to do the most, spread the love of Christ and play basketball, which is the foundation that the WBCBL was founded on. The picture you see is just a glimpse of how opponents respected her dominance. So what record could she have tied? She is tied with Layla McCray for the most double-doubles (8) in a regular season. It's been a honored and a blessing to have her as a part of the San Antonio Crusaders organization. Not only do the Crusaders organization appreciate her but all the fans communities, the city of San Antonio, Austin, and surrounding areas do as well. For those who never seen her play, here are her stats for the season. She is #1 in field goals made and is #2 for total points.
Points Per Game- 18.3
Field Goal %- 70%
Free Throw %- 65%
