![]() After a big win against inter-region powerhouse, Georgia-Lina Hurricanes, the South Carolina Storm traveled to Columbia, SC for an exhibition game against military base team, the Fort Gordon Lady Dragons. The Storm pulled out a narrow 69-62 victory against the Dragons, in a truly defensive game. Following the game, the South Carolina Storm and guests took some time to speak with a group of young ladies from a local AAU program called the Palmetto 76ers. The Storm spoke about perseverance, integrity, academics, and learning how to play with others.. Among the special guests were the WBCBL Atlantic region director Terri Steed and a Kaydra Duckett of the South Carolina Gamecocks. “Building on the positives of sports was the emphases for the youth because the older you get, the more the fun moves away. But as long as you remain positive and keep the big picture in mind, the fun will return to the game. Teaching kids that basketball can prepare them for more than just a game was equally important, because in life, we go through spurts and you have to have character, self confidence, and a drive to take the good with the bad. HOOP PHI!!” – Coach Jon Shell
