![]() The Women's Blue Chip Basketball League selects Mrs. Toccara Toland-Tatum as the new Regional Director for the Carolinas region. She originally joined the WBCBL by venturing into the realm of team ownership by founding the Winston-Salem Lady Warcats of North Carolina. Mrs. Tatum has been a member of the WBCBL for the past 4 years and now takes over the position, which was formerly held by newly selected WBCBL Vice President, Temekia Moses. Mrs. Tatum becomes only the 2nd regional director for the Carolinas region in the past 6 years. As player/coach/owner, Mrs. Tatum has built a solid program and led her Lady Warcats to 2 WBCBL national playoff appearances. “We value our members and we are proud to have dedicated individuals working their way up the rankings, while continuously improving the outlook of the WBCBL. This is a league of tremendous opportunity on so many levels.” – Mr. McCray Ms. Tatum has her Bachelor’s in Business Administration and her Master’s in Sports Management. ![]() Greensboro, NC Temekia Moses has been named Vice President of the Women’s Blue Chip Basketball League (WBCBL). Ms. Moses’ initial role with the WBCBL began in 2007 as a league consultant and advisor to WBCBL Founder and President, Mr. Willie McCray. “Her expertise in women’s sports has helped guide the development of the WBCBL for many years. Her dedication and outstanding level of faith has been essential to the WBCBL’s spiritual aspect as well. We are very blessed to have such a firm believer in Christ that displays genuine care and leadership.” As a former college coach and scout of female athletes, Ms. Moses understands firsthand the wide chasm that exists between these athletes and the career opportunities available to them in the US. Ms. Moses is the Founder of the Women’s Basketball Showcase, an organization to educate girls and women about domestic and international opportunities that exist for female basketball athletes post-graduation. She also established a semi-professional women’s basketball team in Greensboro, NC as an international touring team, USA Elite, which later joined and is still a member of the WBCBL. Ms. Moses believed that her vision for assisting former athletes was shared by Mr. McCray. Ms. Moses is the owner and General Manager of USA Elite. She has also served as Regional Director of the Carolinas Region in the WBCBL for the last several years. Ms. Moses looks forward to her new role as Vice President and hopes to continue to assist players pursuing a career in basketball post-graduation. For more information, Ms. Moses can be reached directly at 336.303.8683 or via email at [email protected]. ![]() Holiday Food Drive to Feed Families in Need Charlotte, N.C. - The Charlotte Invasion will host its 1st Annual Thanksgiving Holiday Food Drive, in conjunction with Silhouette Hair Studio – 3117 N Sharon Amity Rd in Charlotte – from November 3rd through November 24th. Donations of non-perishable food items will be collected through the month of November leading up to the Thanksgiving holiday. All food donations will go directly to Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry located in Mecklenburg County, which will provide emergency groceries for families in need. Charlotte Invasion women’s semi-pro basketball team has already made an impact in the Charlotte community by hosting a free basketball clinic for youth ages 8-14. The clinic, which started on October 4, will run through November 22nd at Bette Rae Thomas Recreation Center on Tuckaseegee Rd and has boasted more than 50 young athletes in attendance each week. “We have a dedicated commitment to making a difference in the community in which we reside.
