![]() The Baltimore Lions has announced that Alexis Washington has been selected as the Head Basketball Coach. Coach Alexis is currently the head coach of Eastern Technical High school varsity basketball team and currently coaches multiple age groups of the Lady Lions AAU program. Coach Alexis was the head coach of CCBC Dundalk in 2015-16 and assistant coach in 2014-15. From 2011-2014, Washington spent three seasons as the varsity girls’ basketball head coach at Pikesville High School and one season (2010) in that role at the Institute of Business and Entrepreneurship High School. She also served as the assistant women’s basketball coach at the Institute of Notre Dame from 2006-2008. Washington earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Xavier University and a master’s degree in Communications from Southern New Hampshire University. Coach Alexis Washington is far from “new” and neither are the Baltimore Lions. She has coached the owners of this team and a few members of the team since they were 9 years old. This organization stems from a larger organization, The Baltimore Lady Lions in Back River. ![]() Cornelius Bogard has been coaching and building athletic programs for the past 15 Years. “Sports is his passion” Coach Bogard has trained and coached, past and present College and Professional Athletes. He is married to his wife of 20 years Juanita “Precious” LeFloria-Bogard, and she will be the assistant coach. Coach Bogard developed interpersonal and coaching skills through mentoring and coaching of basketball and football for various teams. This has given him a great experience not only in coaching, but also in working with athletes and fans of all ages. Coach Bogard began coaching in 2005. His coaching experience includes CYO as a head coach and assistant. He has also coached AAU/ Travel basketball for Reality Sports Inc., as a Head Coach and recruiter. He assisted with the development and implementing of programs for middle and high school student athletes. This included organizing and directing clinics and camps, building offensive and defensive IQ, strength and conditioning programs and assisting with the process of high school and college eligibility. As an Assistant Girls Basketball coach at Lutheran East High School, they were District Champs 2009 and 2010, Regional Runner-ups 2010, 3 of his 4 years ranked in the top 25 in the area, top 10 state ranking in division 4 and ranked top 25 nationally. As assistant Girls Basketball coach at East Technical High School they were League champions 2013, 14 and 15, Regional Runner-up 2014, ranked #5 in the area, ranked #7 in the state for DII 2015. Bogard finished his high school coaching career as Head Coach of Cleveland Central Catholic high school in the 2016-17 school year.
