![]() This spring, Des Moines is be home to a new developmental basketball team in the Women’s Blue Chip Basketball League (WBCBL.) The Iowa Force Women’s Basketball Team will be made up of 15 players who want to play competitively and/or move their careers to a professional level. They will compete against MidWest teams located in Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska. The WBCBL is a premier professional development basketball league that has nearly 40 teams across the country and gives women a chance to continue their basketball careers competitively. The league has been in business since its inaugural season of 2005. The Iowa Force will play nine games in its first season, beginning on May 7 in Omaha, NE. The season will run until the middle of July and finish with an end of the season tournament in August. Roster spots are still available for those who are interested in joining the team. Anyone interested in helping out with different areas of the team, there are staff positions available.
